Statement regarding the asset transfer of Danehill Close Play Park
At a Parish Council meeting held on 8th July 2021, Councillors agreed the below Statement:
Disley Parish Council is not currently progressing discussions with Cheshire East Council regarding the asset transfer of Danehill Close Play Park. Cheshire East has indicated that it would need to resolve possible encroachment issues at the site. The Parish Council is also concerned that any asset transfer would not include any monies to bring the site up to an acceptable condition. Cheshire East have stated that Disley Parish Council would be required to meet both sets of legal fees. Should Cheshire East’s policy on asset transfers change in the future, then the Parish Council would reconsider the proposal.

Arnold Rhodes Playing Fields – Project Update
The first phase of work to improve the Arnold Rhodes Playing Fields has now been completed, with a new tarmac path around the football pitch, resurfacing of the paths and courts and a new scooter track installed.
The new adult gym equipment has been installed in one of the former tennis courts and this is now ready for use.
A tree surgeon has cleared the foliage around the back of the tennis courts but further tree work will be undertaken when the ground is suitable to take the large equipment necessary without damaging the surfacing.
Three new pieces of toddler play equipment have been installed and work is on-going to fit the safety surfacing around the new equipment. The project manager is awaiting more quotes for the BMX track.
Further new play equipment has now been fitted in the original play area and the tennis court has been re-lined.
New seating and picnic benches have been installed around the park and trees planted for the orchard avenue.
The Parish Council will keep residents informed of progress on this exiting village project and the Council will hope to hold a family launch day upon completion.
