The first phase of work to improve the Arnold Rhodes Playing Fields has now been completed, with a new tarmac path around the football pitch, resurfacing of the paths and courts and a new scooter track installed.
The new adult gym equipment has been installed in one of the former tennis courts and this is now ready for use.
A tree surgeon has cleared the foliage around the back of the tennis courts but further tree work will be undertaken when the ground is suitable to take the large equipment necessary without damaging the surfacing.
Three new pieces of toddler play equipment have been installed and the project manager is awaiting a date for contractors to fit the seating and safety surfacing and more quotes have been sought for the BMX track.
The Parish Council will keep residents informed of progress on this exiting village project and the Council will hope to hold a family launch day upon completion.
