Arnold Rhodes Playing Fields – Project Update
The first phase of work to improve the Arnold Rhodes Playing Fields has now been completed, with a new tarmac path around the football pitch, resurfacing of the paths and courts and a new scooter track installed.
The new adult gym equipment has been installed in one of the former tennis courts and this is now ready for use.
A tree surgeon has cleared the foliage around the back of the tennis courts but further tree work will be undertaken when the ground is suitable to take the large equipment necessary without damaging the surfacing.
Three new pieces of toddler play equipment have been installed and work is on-going to fit the safety surfacing around the new equipment. The project manager is awaiting more quotes for the BMX track.
Further new play equipment has now been fitted in the original play area and the tennis court has been re-lined.
New seating and picnic benches have been installed around the park and trees planted for the orchard avenue.
The Parish Council will keep residents informed of progress on this exiting village project and the Council will hope to hold a family launch day upon completion.
