Disley Parish Council is delighted to invite residents to nominate the people who make Disley & Newtown a better place to live through this year’s Community Star Awards and QEII Youth Award.

These awards celebrate local people whose kindness, dedication and community spirit make a lasting difference to others.

The Community Star Award recognises adults who have gone above and beyond to support individuals, organisations or the wider community. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, neighbourly acts or years of service, this award shines a light on those who make our village special.

The QEII Youth Award, established in 2023 in memory of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, recognises outstanding young people aged under 18 who demonstrate compassion, commitment and a desire to help others. Young volunteers, fundraisers, carers, environmental champions or anyone making a positive impact are all worthy candidates.

Nominations close on Friday 4th September 2026, with awards to be presented at the Civic Service on Sunday 20th September 2026.
