Have Your Say on Social Housing Allocations in Cheshire East.
Cheshire East Council is currently reviewing its Housing Allocations Policy (also known as the Cheshire Homechoice Common Allocations Policy), which determines how social housing is allocated across the borough. The policy was last fully reviewed in 2018.
With social housing in high demand, it is important that homes are allocated fairly and to those most in need. A number of proposed updates have been drafted to reflect changes in national legislation, address areas identified for improvement, and incorporate feedback received from residents, housing partners, MPs and the Housing Ombudsman.

The consultation seeks views on proposed changes relating to:

• Support for people experiencing homelessness
• Information and evidence requirements
• Local connection rules
• Extra bedrooms for carers
• The overall policy

The survey takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete and is open until 31 August 2026.
