Phase 1 consultation

We are aware that many residents will have received information about Peak Cluster through their door in the last couple of weeks. Councillors have also received direct communication, as is required, and have begun our involvement in this process and this will continue.

I wanted to make information available to ensure you, your neighbours and our community, are able to access information and get involved in this important consultation process.

Background

Four major cement and lime producers have come together to form Peak Cluster. This will be the world’s largest cement decarbonisation project. Peak Cluster will use technology known as carbon capture and storage, to capture the CO2 as it is released during the manufacturing process. This will then be transported via a new underground pipeline to be stored permanently under the East Irish seabed.

Phase One Consultation – Public Webinars

Public webinars are being held for those living and working in and around the proposed project area. These webinars will be tailored to different geographical project areas.
