Clubs and Societies

Did you know that Disley is an ancient village and was originally called Dystelegh? There is evidence for its existence from the 13th Century and possibly as far back as Anglo-Saxon Times. If you are interested to know more about the history of our village then why not come along to one of our meetings at Disley Community Centre where you will receive a very warm welcome.

PRIDE (People Restoring and Improving the Disley Environment) was set up in 2001 to enhance the local environment. PRIDE volunteers plant flowers every year as well as undertaking special restoration projects such as the Woodland Garden site at St. Mary’s Church. PRIDE meets once a month, usually on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm. If you would like to get involved please see contact details above.

Disley and District Probus is an informal club for retired professional business men. Meetings are held at Disley Community Centre on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. For more information please see contact details above.

We are a local community gospel choir who meet every month and do occasional concerts throughout the year. We sing a wide range of different styles of music but all are arranged with that unique uplifting gospel sound.  You don’t have to have any experience and we are a community, not a church, choir so all are welcome. 
Rehearsals are at Disley Baptist Church every other Saturday from 2pm-4pm (see Facebook page for dates)

We meet on the 4th Monday of each month in Disley Community Centre. Doors open for socialising over drinks and meetings start at 7.30pm. All women are welcome to come along to a meeting and see if they would like to join us.
