Disley Parish Council is proud to be joining organisations and communities across the country to commemorate VE Day 75, a three-day celebration from 8th May to 10th May 2020.
The Parish Council and the National Trust at Lyme are working to develop a visitor trail of prominent locations across the village where pop-up installations and information about this moment in history can be viewed. The project has a strong focus on peace around the world and celebrating the end of war as well as commemorating the sacrifices made 75 years ago.
The Council would like to hear from any residents and organisations who would like to get involved in this project and has organised a meeting on Monday 13th January at 7.30pm at Disley Community Centre to bring interested parties together. This will be an open meeting, and anyone interested will be very welcome to come along.
To register your interest, please contact the Parish Clerk on 01663 762726, by email at: email@example.com or in person at the Parish Offices in the Community Centre.
Further information is available on this VE Day 75 in Disley factsheet.
