The first phase of work to improve the Arnold Rhodes Playing Fields has now been completed, with a new tarmac path around the football pitch, resurfacing of the paths and courts and a new scooter track installed.
The next phase is due to commence shortly with the gym equipment due to be fitted over the next 2/3 weeks. A tree surgeon will be clearing the foliage around the tennis courts in November and the line marking being done after that. The project manager is awaiting a date for contractors to fit the play equipment, seating and safety surfacing and more quotes have been sought for the BMX track.
Tree clearance has been carried out around the tennis courts but further tree work will be undertaken in the new year when the ground is suitable to take the large equipment without damage.
The Parish Council will keep residents informed of progress on this exiting village project.
