The Parish Council has been informed by Cheshire East Highways that work has started on the implementation of the A6/MARR Mitigation Works in Disley.
The first piece of work is the removal of the pedestrian refuge on Lyme Park bend close to the Lyme Park entrance. Following this, localised patching will take place on the western side of the village, from the Stockport boundary to near the Railway Station entrance. The refuge is being removed to allow space for the introduction of the cycle lanes. This phase of work is due to continue until 11th June 2017. A replacement refuge is due to be installed later in the scheme.
In the week commencing 5th June 2017, Cheshire East are planning to apply a gripfibre surface treatment along this section of the A6. This work is scheduled to take place outside of peak travelling times with the patching work starting from 7.00pm. Cheshire East have planned this work to minimise disruption to both residents and members of the travelling public.
